Obituary for Mildred Quinola Jouvenat
Mildred Quinola Jouvenat, 49 of Kihei passed away on July 21, 2019. Her son, Jacob Quinola Jouvenat, 14, passed away the following day at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Mildred was born on June 4, 1970 in Vigan City, Ilocossur. She moved to Maui and married her husband, David Jouvenat and together had two children, Jacob Jouvenat and Jeremiah Jouvenat. She worked at the Grand Wailea Hotel as a housekeeper.
Mildred is survived by her husband, David “Dave” Jouvenat; son, Jeremiah Jouvenat; parents, Mr. Tomas Quinola & Mrs. Feliza Quinola; brother, Sonny (Julie Anne) Quinola; and sisters, Miladel (Ronald) Ordenez, Liza (Jojo) Perez and Lalaine (Joseph) Borje.
Jacob was born on May 13, 2005 in Wailuku. He was a student at Lokelani Intermediate who was soon going to attend high school. He enjoyed robotics, adventure games, hiking and hanging out with his friends. He dreamed of one day becoming a scientist. Jacob was an introvert to strangers and an extrovert to friends.
Jacob is survived by his father, David “Dave” Jouvenat; brother, Jeremiah Jouvenat; grandparents, Mr. Tomas Quinola and Mrs. Feliza Quinola; as well as numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului. Service will begin at 7 p.m. Second day visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church in Kihei. Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku.
