My heart is heavy and I'm so sad to hear of my dear friend Dulce's passing. I will miss that smile and crazy hysterical laugh that always came with sweet pinch. My deepest sympathy to Elise and Richard. Sisters Corrine, Tessie, Tina.

Dulce your smile I can still see it. I've been seeing your face in my mind for several days now. I had no idea you left. I learned about you last night. No one knew. Not your other family of friends from Jim Nabors and Don Ho show. We are in shock. I'm in shock. I didn't get that chance to hug you and reminisce of all the glorious fun times we had together. Ivan passed too in August just before you. Maybe you guys are hanging out in heaven. He loved you too. Who couldn't love a crazy fun girl like you. I hope you didn't suffer too long. Dulce was a very good friend. We were roommates when she sang and I danced for Jim Nabors show. We have so many stories of great times. I guess I corrupted this sweet and innocent, that's what she used to say. I corrupted her because if there ever was a sweet and innocent, it would be a face of Dulce's. I would drag her out after the show with the gang and do what we did best. Party. And close the place down. She was always an angel to me. She sang like one too. I miss you so much. I had left messages on your phone months ago. I thought you were busy as always with your hectic work schedule and being mom to Elise and chasing down Richard wherever he was. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you. I need answers now from someone who knew what happened to my Dulce. Did the tumor in her brain grow back? Was there other complications? Please I have to know. Just an old intermediate and high school classmate who is sad to learn of Dulce's passing. She was one of the most friendliest and kindest person I have ever met. R.I.P Dulce.

With a very sad heart I extend my condolences to the family of my dear friend, Dulce. Dulce was the bright light and moral compass of our LH High Board. During that magical year, and through our continuing friendship over the years, I was always in awe of the radiance, happiness and genuine love for life and for people that Dulce exuded - even when times were tough for her. She was immensely talented, beautiful, funny, bright, giving and always kind to others – no matter what. She strived to find the positive in people, and in challenging situations. She had an innocence that made her vulnerable, as well as endearing. Although I was proud to be considered by our friends as her other half of the “Manila Twins,” in truth, I did not deserve the recognition. Rather, I knew deep down that if only half of Dulce’s personality traits rubbed off on me, I would be well ahead of my own game. I will always treasure the times we shared on the High Board together - the laughter, the singing (hers, not mine), the gripe sessions, the events and shows, enduring the practical jokes by the boys with her, and the girls scheming against the boys – all in good fun. Despite not being able to see each other regularly once I left home for college, whenever we did get together on visits, or just chat over the phone, it was as if time stood still and our bonds renewed. I will miss her saying, “Oh, Mil!” followed by her exuberant laugh, almost always accompanied by a grab or shaking of my arm - sometimes with a slight pinch – as if to keep her balance while she laughed out loud. I will be forever grateful for her beautiful and kind friendship and for benefitting from the warmth of her good heart and loving soul. Elise, know that you were the bright light of your mother’s life; she loved you so very much and was so very proud to be your mom. Richard, her love for you was special and lasting, and I am very sorry for your loss. Corrine, Tessie and Tina, your endearing sisterly love and laughter since the hana batta days, along with your parents’ love and strict curfews (similar to mine), gave Dulce a strong foundation for strength, courage and love for family - she loved each and all of you so very much. Please accept my heartfelt expression of sympathy, and appreciation for your kindness towards me. To all of Dulce’s friends and others she touched, we are all the better and happier because of her.
