Barbara Ruth Susan “Susie” Uwekoolani, 62, of Kahului, passed away on July 22, 2019 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on October 10, 1956 in Victoria, B.C., Canada.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Ballard Family Mortuary, memorial services will begin at 7 p.m.
She was a Registered Nurse at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Susie embraced the Hawaiian culture with her whole heart. She enjoyed helping others and exemplified what Aloha really was.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Uwekoolani; 2 daughters, Rachel (John) DeCoite, and Kalei Uwekoolani; 6 brothers, Thomas, Hugh, Joseph, David, Jim, and John Jackson; 4 sisters, Janice Higgins, Marney Cherry, Sally Hastings, and Kathy Snellbaker; 4 grandchildren, Keoni (Hiialoa Kahekili) Palakiko, Keanu and Kayden Uwekoolani-DeCoite, and Roni Naea; 1 great-grandson, Kainoa Uwekoolani-DeCoite + 1 more on the way.
