Condolence: We only new Jim in the last few months, of course it was about car stuff that needed to be fixed. However we also became fond lf him and his ways. He spoke from his heart, you just had to listen to know that. Aloha Jim

Condolence: It's so hard to say good-bye to cool Unk Jim. He was a unique, funny, brilliant, and kind human being. I will cherish the memories of visiting with him as a little girl; I still smile when I remember him calling me "sneaker". He had an amazing razor-sharp, sarcastic wit. Visiting with him in Hawaii as an adult was always an adventure. I will forever think of Uncle Jim when I see a sea turtle, remembering our day at Punaluu Beach when we helped save a baby turtle from a poacher. The friends Jim had in Hawaii are remarkable people; I was honored and humbled to meet some last week. Rest in peace, Unk Jim, you will be missed!

Condolence: HI FRED,
SO VERY SORRY ABOUT JIM! I'VE LOST A GREAT FRIEND AND I MISS HIM. WE WORKED TOGETHER FOR 30 YEARS AND SPOKE NUMEROUS TIMES, DAILY. JIM WAS MY BEST CUSTOMER, EVER! SO VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE! I LEARNED SO MUCH FROM HIM! IT WAS MY PLEASURE TO SERVE SUCH A GREAT MAN. HE WAS AT THE TOP OF HIS PROFESSION, THERE'S NO ONE BETTER...BUT, BEFORE JIM, IT WAS YOUR DAD! HE STARTED THE SHILZONY PLEASURE EXPERIENCE. I THINK I'M ONE OF THE FEW PEOPLE TO HAVE HAD THE GOOD FORTUNE OF WORKING WITH BOTH OF THEM. JIM WILL HAVE A GOOD JOURNEY BECAUSE I KNOW HE DID HIS HOMEWORK. AS MY OWN CAREER IS WINDING DOWN, I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER JIM AND HIS TEACHINGS. WE HAD LOTS OF GOOD TIMES. I SHED A TEAR OR TWO, BUT I'LL TRY AN EASE THE HURT WITH THOSE MEMORIES.
WHEN TIME PERMITS I'LL TRY AND REACH YOU, FRED.
ALOHA!

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear the news of his passing ... what a shame and a sincere loss for our island community and all the friends and family that loved him.
Jim was a true friend and AMAZING human being. He stayed positive when times were bad and looked to see the light in trying people and situations. He offered jokes when needed and solid electrical advice (even on our old "eurotrash" model unimog) whenever asked.
He was especially supportive of all the conservation efforts and beach cleanups that we host along the remote Ka'u coastline. On the lucky occasions I had time to visit with him over the past decade, he always spoke highly of his family, especially of his nephew who would visit some summers. To his family on the mainland, I wish you all the best during this difficult time. Please know that Jim was much loved and will be much missed.
I love you, Jim! May you find peace and fulfillment in wherever the next adventure takes you .... and may you drive there in style.
Me ke aloha, meg
